O Sunny Day

The last few days have been like that: blue above, green below, gold between. Friday, a brisk day, a turning-in-papers and crisp starched cuffs day. Friday afternoon I was struck with as pink and spangled a mood as I have ever known my self to possess. Schoolwork Saturday, sunny likewise, I spent largely in the gazebo reading a favorite Shakespeare play--Twelfth Night--for homework. I love being a Lit major. :-)

The sermon this morning was on God as light (1 John 1:5-7). Anybody who knows me well, knows how I feel about that particular metaphor. I was pierced. Brittainy and I both got prayer afterwards, I for my self-centered desire to control my own life, and my heart, so prone to wander. Schoolwork has been tough this week; shouldn't that fact have driven me closer to my quiet times? We experienced repentence, reconciliation, and, in a word: light.

This afternoon Brittainy and I spent in our secret place, the graveyard, memorizing a passage from Pride and Prejudice to perform together for Brittainy's Novel presentation. We were going to go see the new movie takeoff of Oliver Twist, but Brittainy had too much work to do (she was gone all Saturday on a soccer game).

Now it is Sunday evening, and I just discovered a new album on Rhapsody: Christian artist takeoffs on the Narnia theme. Bliss.

Greengold Spirit, bluegold God, redgold Savior...

My trinity ring reminds me, I'm living in a rainbow.
