Give Me Vision!

Surely there is an end to the desire for light! But I do not find this to be the truth---the more I give to it, the more I have, for it is infinite, and it produces in me infinite longing. I have been reading Dante, who wrote of spiritual blindness and spiritual sight. That is what I mean; I want to see. I am like those on the Dawn Treader, who sailed ever eastward and ever found that their eyes could bear more and more light. Sated hunger---what is that! There is no end to my hunger for light: yes, and music, and whatever else is conducive to worship.

I want you as I want to live, as I want breath, bread, and beauty. Before you, God, I want you! My soul's craving is utterly satisfied, and yet unending. Even when I do not feel it, I know it. There is no reality real enough, except you. There is no enough but you. There is no IS that more truly exists than you do, and there is no one who exists as you are.

What joy to think, that I need not divide my heart! Justice, absolute beauty, mercy, light, love, complete strength, utter wisdom---these do not exist separately. I need not choose one. I choose them all. I choose you. What do all the love-words in the world mean, but that? I choose you; you chose me. I name you best, most briliant, beloved. I tell the world, "There is no one better than HE," and there is no other glorious sight, no sweetness exceeding this, no pleasure or excellence beyond this, for it is infinite. It is to be in your heart.

To be in your heart. To be in your heart. To be in your heart. To be in your heart.

This is highest, and yet the Empyrean has not begun. I am only in outermost sphere of knowing, but already blinded by what my clearing vision can see.

Make my eyes stronger! I burn to lift them to your light.

You have spoken my heart.

"True wit is Nature to advantage dress'd:
What oft was thought, but ne'er so well express'd."

I long to be at the end of that sea, where the straining is no more and the Joy visible.

Excellent! Everything that good is manifest in God's character. We need not worship many gods as pagans do. One God is enough.

Thanks for expressing that. It's good to find your blog.
